Library + Archives

The Library & Archives consist of over 1,300 linear feet of personal papers and manuscripts, organizational records and photographic materials; printed works such as histories, genealogies, catalogs, maps and atlases and audio and videotape, pertaining to all aspects of Greenwich history, Bush-Holley Historic Site and the Cos Cob art colony.


Open to the public on Wednesdays, 10 am — 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm — 4:00 pm or by appointment.


Access to the Library & Archives is a benefit granted to members of the Historical Society.

Individual Membership: $40
Senior Citizen: $30
Non-member Archives Access (one-time use): $10

Search the Catalog

Many of the finding aids (descriptive guides to historical records) and a sampling of the book catalog are now searchable online. Click here to search the catalog. NOTE: Not all available material can be searched online at this time. Feel free to ask the archivist if we have what you are seeking.

Research Services

Access to a professional researcher is available to assist with research queries in person, by phone at 203-869-6899, ext.23 or through email at Questions received from researchers off-site will be answered as time allows.

Initial 15 minutes: Free
Next 1/2 hour: $25
Next hour: $35/hour


Photocopies and digital photo-reproduction services are available for a fee. Permission to publish reproductions of material owned by the Historical Society must be obtained from the archivist before publication. A separate publication fee will be applied.
