Colonial Crafts: Make a Cardstock “Quilt” in the Time Travelers KidStudio

November 13, 2024

Event Details

Date: November 13, 2024
Time: 12:00 pm
–4:00 pm

In conjunction with our current exhibition, Greenwich During the Revolutionary War: A Frontier Town on the Front Line, the Time Travelers KidStudio returns through March 2025! Step back in time and learn how kids lived in Greenwich 250 years ago. Every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon will feature a new guided craft or activity inspired by the colonial era. Children up to age 12 are welcome to attend with an accompanying adult.

On Wednesday, November 13, the KidStudio will offer “quilt” making! Quilts in early America were not just something to keep people warm at night. They were also an art form in which the quilter could express themselves through the fabrics they chose, stiches they used, and designs they created. Create your own “quilt” out of cardstock and use the different squares to represent the many things that create the fabric of our lives.
