British Raids & Whaleboats

A Walking History Tour of Cos Cob’s Lower Landing

Experience an interactive guided tour at the Greenwich Historical Society and Bush-Holley House. Follow part of the route marched during the raid on Cos Cob, visit the site of the community’s historic saltworks, and discover how local whaleboat crews used their knowledge of the waterways to harass British forces and protect their town.

Along the way, hear the remarkable story of Esther Isaacs, whose courageous whaleboat journey into British-occupied New York City reveals the risks ordinary people took in support of the Revolutionary cause. Tours led by Justin Rivers, Untapped New York’s Chief Experience Officer.

Re-Framing 95

Interactive Art Installation & Walking Tours

Experience an interactive art installation and guided tours at the Greenwich Historical Society and Bush-Holley House. Featuring floating frames by artist Aaron Asis, the exhibit highlights historic landscapes now shaped by I-95, inviting visitors to see the highway as part of the town’s evolving history. Tours led by Justin Rivers, Untapped New York’s Chief Experience Officer.

Rediscover Greenwich Avenue

Historic buildings became canvases for large-scale murals featuring archival images of what those places looked like in the past, drawn from the Historical Society’s collections and sharing unique stories. The murals, designed by Untapped New York’s artist Aaron Asis debuted in conjunction with a series of guided walking tours exploring the history of Greenwich Avenue and its local businesses led by Justin Rivers, Untapped New York’s Chief Experience Officer and Christopher Shields, Historical Society Director of Library and Archives.

Two Way Street Exhibition

Two Way Street is an installation of large scale archival imagery designed by artist Aaron Asis. Which was hosted at the Greenwich Arts Council in conjunction with the 2025 Art to the Avenue and displayed through the summer. Created to inspire new historical perspectives — to help us better understand the past, appreciate the present and build the future.
