Every second Sunday in 2026, step back in time and experience 250 years of Greenwich’s history! Join us for Time Travelers Family Sunday on Sunday, April 12th! Throughout 2026, the second Sunday of every month will feature family-friendly programming.

Did you know that on April 12, 1776, George Washington had lunch in Greenwich at Knapp’s Tavern (now Putnam Cottage)? For April’s Family Sunday, join us in welcoming General George Washington back to Greenwich for a commemorative ride between Greenwich Historical Society and Putnam Cottage.

From 10:30-11:00, meet General Washington at Greenwich Historical Society and watch him prepare his horse for a ride through Greenwich. From 11:00-4:00, we’ll keep the revolutionary fun going with colonial games and toy making on our lawn and in our classroom. Learn to make a cornhusk doll and how to play historic games like Shut the Box and the Game of Graces.

Participation in the Meet and Greet with George and hands-on activities is free. Please check in the museum lobby before joining the fun. Walk ins welcome!
