In conjunction with our current exhibition, Greenwich During the Revolutionary War: A Frontier Town on the Front Line, the Time Travelers KidStudio returns through March 2025! Step back in time and learn how kids lived in Greenwich 250 years ago. Every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon will feature a new guided craft or activity inspired by the colonial era. Children up to age 12 are welcome to attend with an accompanying adult.
On Wednesday, December 18 the KidStudio will offer making an illumination! In the winter of 1781 in Philadelphia, everyone was talking about the windows of local artist Charles Willson Peale. Painting on thin fabric or glass, Peale created vivid scenes depicting the American Revolution that were only revealed when the darkness fell and candlelight passed through the windows onto the street. Honor Peale’s artistry by creating an illumination of your own for display in front of a candle or on your window at home.
