In conjunction with our current exhibition, Greenwich During the Revolutionary War: A Frontier Town on the Front Line, the Time Travelers KidStudio returns through March 2025! Step back in time and learn how kids lived in Greenwich 250 years ago. Every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon will feature a new guided craft or activity inspired by the colonial era. Children up to age 12 are welcome to attend with an accompanying adult.

On Wednesday, February 12 the KidStudio will offer making a whirligig! Whirligigs are one of the world’s most ancient toys. Its most simple form, a piece of clay or bone attached to a strip of hide, were played with by both ancient Greeks and Native Americans thousands of years ago. During the Revolutionary War, whirligigs were enjoyed by kids, camp followers, and soldiers because of how easy they were to make. Create your own whirligig and learn how entertainment can be created even out of the simplest materials.
