Date: October 1, 2026
Time: 6:15 pm
–7:45 pm

Have you ever wanted to learn more about the history of your home and the people who lived there? Join us for a fun and informative session on property research using the resources available at Greenwich Historical Society (and beyond!).

Christopher Shields, Director of Library and Archives, will offer an introduction to property research. We will explore how maps, photographs, business records, and telephone directories in the Historical Society collection can provide context and answers for your search. Details will be provided on Town-maintained land records and how to access and use them. You will discover how to search a fully digitized and indexed local newspaper database. These sources can provide a fascinating glimpse at the history of both structures and the interesting lives of the people who lived or worked in them.

After this introduction, you will be ready to conduct your own research on our Thursday public archives days. Of course, staff will be available then to assist you with questions and additional guidance.
