During the American Revolution, the quickest way to spread ideas to a town was through a broadside. These were large, single-page announcements that could be posted around town in public places. In fact, the first printed version of the Declaration of Independence was distributed as a broadside! In honor of America’s 250th, join us on Family Sunday and imagine if you lived in Greenwich 250 years ago, what phrase would you use to rally your community to join the patriot cause? Then turn that phrase into your own revolutionary broadside to take home using our simplified printing press. Complete your visit with a tour of the Bush-Holley House and learn about how the American Revolution impacted the lives of the various members of the Bush household.
