Historic Shoreline Kayak Tour

Explore the history of Greenwich Harbor and Belle Haven from the water in this engaging tour with the Greenwich Historical Society and guide Laura P. Dickey, in association with SoundWaters Kayaks. Bring your own kayak or reserve one when you register. Tour highlights include discussion of the Indian Harbor Club, Tweed Island, and the four original houses within Belle Haven. 

The tour will be launching from Grass Island. Participants are required to sign a waiver and release prior to September 17th in order to participate. Please arrive by 9:30 AM in order to prepare for the program. Please read the important information sheet carefully before attending this program. Meet your guide:

Laura P. Dickey has delivered tours in Newport, Rhode Island, the Berkshires, tri-state area and has a love for historic architecture. She holds a degree in art history from American University and a Masters in Education from Sacred Heart University. Among Laura’s local activities, she worked with the historical society on the development of the former Cos Cob Power Plant site to create Cos Cob Park, and is closely involved with the Greenwich Point Conservancy. She’s an avid outdoor sports enthusiast and is happy to lead kayak, walking, and bus tours where interesting architecture lives.
