Did you know the majority of the Bush-Holley House did not have electricity until 1957? The Bush and Holley families both lived in the house for over 200 years without it. Without electricity, candles were essential for bringing light to dark nights. This Family Sunday, join us in the classroom to make and decorate your own all-natural beeswax candles. Then, create a soda can punched tin lantern or clay candle holder to bring your own candle home in. Complete your visit with a tour of the Bush-Holley House and learn about daily life before technology and modern innovations.
